Simulated work experience

When I wrote this blog, my simulated work was just in the middle. Although I haven’t experienced the process and content of a whole simulated work, I can already make a proper self-evaluation of my experience: rich, enjoyable and challenging.

My group has two animations to complete, one is fantasy and the other is historical. To be honest, I was a little nervous when I first met my second-year graduate students, just like the nervousness of facing a boss during an interview. I was worried whether my boss was too strict and whether he would assign me some tasks that I couldn’t do. Fortunately, my bosses were very nice and easy to communicate with. They assigned me to the historical animation group and was responsible for drawing the animation background.

This kind of grouping, communication and homework was a very new experience for me. The whole workflow was like working in an animation company. Everyone had a clear division of labor and responsibilities, just like the products in a factory assembled from different parts. In the process of work, as a scene designer, I would design the whole scene in more detail according to the requirements given to me by the second-year team leader and the draft of the scene. The whole workflow is very suitable for me and always makes me passionate. Whether it is the sparks of inspiration generated in the communication with the team leader, or the repeated modification of the picture just to make the background more in line with the overall tone of the animation. I can feel a sense of satisfaction and the meaning of my existence in this project. Although it takes a lot of patience and time to constantly modify the picture, when I finally see the correct picture, I think all the previous modifications and efforts are very worthwhile.

In the end, I would like to say that this simulated work allows me to have a prospect of my future work in an animation company. At the same time, it also allows me to meet very good second-year seniors. I have seen and experienced their ideas and working methods for animation. The most important thing is to give me the confidence to keep moving forward in my future animation experience.
